The fifth raceday of the metropolitan season. First part of classic Triple-crown: 97th Velká jarní cena Pražské plynárenské - Czech 2000 Guineas (1m, 550 ths. CZK, 3-y-o c+f) is the main race of the day. Eight races, first one starts at 1.45 p. m.
Last year's junior-champion, brown colt SAGAR (7:10-fav.) won Vodafone & Czech Leaders Stakes (29th Prof. Michal Memorial Stakes, Class A, 7f, 135 ths. CZK) and became the favourite of Czech 2000 Guineas (May 13). Jockey Petr Foret won this race already by the fourth time.
Three times Czech jockey-champion Jaromír Šafář won two races of the day, incl. RIGIPS Stakes (13th Jaroslav Mašek Memorial Stakes, 7f, Class B, 100 ths. CZK) aboard 4yo chesnut filly Benidiction.
6yo horse ALDZARB (j. Laube, tr. Šavujev, own. Ramzan Kadyrov) won the main race of the second raceday in Prague, 60th Factoring ČS April Stakes (9f, 150 ths. CZK, 4-y-o+) in fast time 1:51,43 and reached the fourth lifetime win.
3yo filly RAPET won, also in fast time 1:26,26, 44th Rudolf Deyl Memorial Stakes - Czech 1000 Guineas and achieved the first win in the career. It was first win also for owner Stáj RA-PET.CZ, coach Václav Luka won the fourth Prague's race in this year and very talented apprentice rider David Liška, who won three races in this day, won already eight races in the new Czech season.
